Very bad news from the world of Orthodoxy in America. Metropolitan Jonah Paffhausen, is an American convert to Eastern Orthodoxy who has risen to the highest rank in the Orthodox Church in America. Because he expected much change to occur, he ruffled the feathers of many of the so-called ‘Holy’ Synod. The Metropolitan was not perfect, but he was a good catalyst for pushing for a true American Orthodoxy, rather than the ghettoized mess we have in North America that ethnics clinging to their homelands can’t seem to quit strangling. This causes great damage to Orthodoxy’s name as a church.
