Lily;

I find both to be loathesome. I had high hopes for Calderón, and I do salute what he's trying to do against the drug cartels infesting Mexico. But playing lackey to our POTUS was out-of-bounds and tasteless, and he needs to know his place when coming into this country. What if last president (or last ten) came down and called Mexico a drug-wracked cesspool? Do you think the Mexican Senate would have cheered in the manner of the idiotic seals who are the Democratic Party would have? They probably would have tried punching out the Embassy Staff as well as the POTUS for a crack like that.

Mr. Rudes - excellent commentary. One question though Mr. Rudes, how does one call heads of other countries failed leaders when our own leaders at home have failed us? I am grateful for guidance you continue to provide, in spite of your daunting schedule - you Mr. Rudes are a model citizen.

Most respectfully submitted sire, I remain

I have so much to comment about this post, but now I don't think it's the best for me to give my opinion about my government or America's President... I'll just say that in my point of view, right now, both presidents are equal.

Dear J.J.;

It's a pleasure to have my favorite foil come back and grace my wee blog with your commentary. I tend to generally agree with STRATFOR when it comes to analysis, as the monitor trends long-term, even if the one can make a credible case that they don't see what they're talking about in the present time. I was also in a rush to put up the post as I have been quite busy looking into a business proposition that might put me in a good place financially. I'll comment on that another day.

I agree wholeheartedly with where you say, "Now I have read some accounts reported in the MSM, including Fox News, and to be completely honest, it doesn’t make sense that a guy – seemingly intelligent and educated in science, who allegedly was trained in making bombs and creating terror would pull such an utterly stupid stunt (fire crackers and propane tanks – and a bag of lawn fertilizer)." I'll posit an idea to you, as I am not an expert in this field, either, as you well know. I merely comment. But do consider this: It is now possible for a terrorist, whether trained to the hilt or to be a mere patsy, to utterly disrupt life in a financial hub like New York City without so much as popping a bomb. The mere fact that there was a car laden with explosives was enough to send people into a panic. That says a lot about the psychological effectiveness of such stunts, don't you think? If one can use the threat of an explosion rather than actually carrying it off, that would serve as a psychological coup for Al Qaeda and those who support them.

Your schooling in science did not fail you, sir. You are certainly right about the mechanics of exploding ordinance. Still, give the idea I just mentioned some thought, and let me know what you think. Despite your feigning a lack of intelligence on these matters, you have a grasp of concepts that I might not have totally. It is time for me to sit and listen to you, now.

Remember something, J. J. We might not agree on everything, or in fact many things, but you bring an enlightened presence to my blogs. I enjoy thinking things through with you. You should have considered a career in punditry.

Regards,

Hey there Mr Rudes - nice suite suites you

I had a quick read of the Stewart link you have there Mr. Rudes - you have not included any thoughts on the article, so either you are in complete agreement with the thesis and have nothing more to add, or that you thought it's not worth commenting on - which if true would also mean it's not worthy of link on your esteemed column. I am leaning toward you agreeing with Stewart.

Now I have read some accounts reported in the MSM, including Fox News, and to be completely honest, it doesn't make sense that a guy - seemingly intelligent and educated in science, who allegedly was trained in making bombs and creating terror would pull such an utterly stupid stunt (fire crackers and propane tanks - and a bag of lawn fertilizer). Now granted I am not an expert, but even with my limited high school chemistry, I know that the only way an explosion will occur is when there is sudden change in pressure in a constrained volume. If Taliban can teach the man on the donkey to launch rockets, one would think they would do just as well with a US educated man with a computer engineering degree - and not just any but the one who was motivated enough to travel to the most dangerous areas and make it back without being caught. and I am glad for his stupidity. Only thing that came out, which is most heartening is that our law enforcement folks are top notch - even if the culprit did drop plenty of evidence all along, at every step of his operation. If I didn't unquestioningly believe in our law enforcement agencies, I'd say this is some kind of a stunt - given the reports, there is no other logical explanation - given my intellectual limitations, it is one reason that I depend on the wise, such as yourself to provide me with the guidance I seek.

Most humbly submitted to you sire, I remain

Considering what a thoughtful read your blog is, PJ, I thought you'd come up with something better. Still, Mexico is free to boycott Arizona any time it wishes. Thanks to the gang rabble destroying their country and each other in broad daylight, it seems America will have no choice but to return the favor. No one in their right mind will go to parts of Norther Mexico until the trash is taken out. I just feel bad for the Guatemalans and Salvadorans who have to put up with so much worse when they jump into Mexico's southern flank.

This isn't a big step towards profiling. If you're involved in a crime officers already ask for identification. As American citizen do you think officers shouldn't be able to ask for identification ever?
